The Lagos State Judiciary has announced the programme of activities to mark the commencement of the 2025/2026 Legal Year under the leadership of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kareem Olanrewaju Alogba.
According to the official statement, the celebrations will begin on Monday, September 22, 2025, with interfaith thanksgiving services scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Central Mosque, Nnamdi Azikiwe Street, and the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina.
These services, the statement revealed, are designed to usher in the new legal year with prayers of gratitude and divine guidance for the judiciary in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities.
The Judiciary also announced that the 2025/2026 Legal Year Summit will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at The Shell Zenith Bank Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The summit, it said, will serve as a platform for judges, lawyers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to engage in robust discussions on emerging issues in the administration of justice.
Emphasising its dedication to strengthening the rule of law and ensuring access to justice, the Lagos State Judiciary described the annual event as a reaffirmation of its commitment to sustaining Lagos as a model of judicial excellence in Nigeria.
The Judiciary urged members of the public, legal practitioners, and invited stakeholders to participate fully in the scheduled activities.
