Shanko Rasheed loses 12-year-old son

Nigerian Fuji artist, Shanko Rasheed Atanda has announced the heartbreaking loss of his first son, Jamaldeen Atanda.

The musician made the announcement via his Instagram page on Friday, expressing deep sorrow over the tragedy.

He noted that losing a child is a pain no parent ever wishes to experience, while offering prayers for his son’s peaceful rest.

Shanko did not provide details regarding when or how Jamaldeen passed away.

“So Sad, no parent prays to lose a child in their lifetime but Alhamdulilahi Jamaldeen Emrs Atanda JNR rest well my champ I will surely tell you all about it when I see you again. Omo Ola sun reeee,” he wrote.

Following the announcement, his social media page was inundated with messages of sympathy from fans, colleagues, and other figures in the entertainment scene, all extending their support during his time of grief.

The tragic incident occurred only a few months after the singer marked Jamaldeen’s 12th birthday in December with a heartfelt message celebrating his son’s life and growth.

In the earlier post, Shanko had praised Jamaldeen for the joy he brought into his life and for the pride he felt watching him mature.

“Happy Birthday to my amazing first son! !You changed my life the moment you arrived and continue to make me proud every single day. I love the young man you’re becoming,” he wrote.

“Watching you grow has been my greatest joy. Keep shining, keep dreaming, and keep being the incredible person you are.

“So proud of you” May your year be filled with laughter, growth, and endless blessings I love you forever Son.”’
