In a move to drive sustainable leadership, MTN Nigeria partnered with GAIA Africa recently to host a C-suite networking session titled ‘Sharing Growth: An Evening of Relaxation & Reflection.’

The event, held at the GAIA office on Victoria Island, Lagos, convened high-value female leaders to celebrate Women’s Month while fostering connections that unlock economic opportunities for Nigeria.

GAIA Africa is the continent’s first private members’ business club dedicated solely to the top 5% of female decision-makers, including board directors, founders, and C-suite executives.

Emphasising the power of communal support, Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, highlighted how collective effort fuels individual success. “At some point in our journeys, each of us has benefited from the support of another woman, whether through a recommendation, an opportunity created, or a kind word spoken in our absence, she noted during the session.“ she noted during the session.

Encouraging a spirit of sisterhood, Mena Imasekha, General Manager of GAIA Africa, urged the guests to embrace the moment fully. “Let us raise a toast and connect as we reflect and relax, recognising that our strength lies in the bonds we build during these quiet moments,” she said, showcasing how these subtle moments of collective energy often ignite game-changing business innovations.

The message was powerful – it was important to celebrate women every month of the year and not just in March. MTN currently has over 40% of its leadership team roles occupied by women. This partnership with GAIA Africa, as with scores of partnerships and initiatives by the company, underscores its commitment to gender inclusion and its role as a progressive enabler of leadership.

By curating such high-impact spaces, the techco reinforces its reputation as a trusted partner for executives seeking to balance professional excellence with meaningful community and economic advancement.
