Agesinkole returns: Femi Adebayo announces King of Thieves 2

Femi Adebayo, the mastermind behind the blockbuster Nollywood hit King of Thieves, has announced the highly anticipated sequel, King of Thieves 2.

The film’s mysterious marketing campaign, which featured the enigmatic #HeIsBack hashtag, has finally culminated in an official reveal: Agesinkole, the iconic character played by Femi Adebayo, is back and ready for the cinemas.

The original movie, King of Thieves, was a game-changer, grossing N322 million and cementing its place as a landmark Yoruba epic. Femi Adebayo has revealed that the sequel promises to be even more epic, with a star-studded cast that includes Yemi Solade, Bimbo Akintola, and Gabriel Afolayan.

According to him, King of Thieves 2 will hit community cinemas across western Nigeria on a yet-to-be-announced date, with discounted tickets.

This move pays homage to the nostalgic neighbourhood viewing centres of the past, where communities came together to share in the magic of cinema.

The film’s production team includes Femi Adebayo, Kelechi Okoro, and Imade Bibowei-Osuobeni as Executive Producers, with music by Tolu Obanro and editing by Temitope Folarin.

Femi Adebayo stated, “The legend has returned, and the kingdom will never be the same.”
