Bandits attack Kaduna communities, 3 dead, 20 abducted

At least three persons have been killed and over 20 abducted, after suspected bandits raided Ungwar Maiduniya and Ungwar Bulus communities of Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.

The Councillor representing Sabo Ward of the local government, Hon. Makama, who confirmed the incident, said the number of abducted persons were likely to be more as details of the missing persons were still being collated.

A source confirmed that the bandits entered the communities in their large numbers at about 9pm on Thursday night and started shooting sporadically, killing three persons in the process and taking away more than 20 others to an unknown destination.

Reoorts also gathered that four of the bandits were trapped in the affected communities by the locals and security agents, but details could not be ascertained.

Meanwhile, when the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Muhammed Jalige was contacted on the matter, he promised to contact the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area and revert, but has not done so as at the time of filing this report.
