Armed bandits recently massacred 75 people during an attack on Woro and Nuku communities of Kaiama Local Government in Kwara North Senatorial District of the state on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, disclosed this during a visit to the communities on Wednesday night, February 4, 2026.

He was accompanied by service chiefs and cabinet members of government.

According to him, “75 local Muslims were massacred simply for refusing to surrender to extremists who preached a strange doctrine.”

Governor Abdulrazaq, revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved immediate deployment of an army battalion to prosecute counter offensives codenamed ‘Operation Savannah Shield’.

While commiserating with the community, he said the “incident was different from the situation where people are kidnapped for ransom, as this was a pure massacre.”

Aside the killings, the armed bandits set houses ablaze in the bloody attack on the communities.
