Burna Boy picks up Grammy nomination after winning MTV EMAs, BET

Burna Boy has picked up a Grammy nomination weeks after after winning the Best Africa Act 2019 at MTV EMAs and BET.

Burna Boy’s 4th studio album, African Giant earned him his first Grammy Awards nomination.

The widely-acclaimed album released in 2019 has been selected in the Best World Music Album category for Grammy Awards 2020.

Burna Boy joins Altin Gün, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley as nomines on Wednesday, November 20, 2018 when the full nomination list was announced ahead of the 62nd Grammy Awards.

The nomination is for albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental World Music recordings.

Burna Boy is nominated in the same category alongside Altin Gün (GECE); Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley (WHAT HEAT); Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet (FANM D’AYITI) and Angelique Kidjo (CELIA).

Celebrities have been taking turns to congratulate the 28-year-old on the achievement.
