Caf 2022: Sadio Mane, Asisat Oshoala win African players of the year

Senegal’s Sadio Mane was crowned African Player of the Year at the 2022 CAF Awards held in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday.

It will be his second after the Senegal and Bayern Munich forward first won the honour in 2019 while he was at Liverpool.

On the night, Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala made history by winning the Best Female Player award for the fifth time.

Oshoala has won the award in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022, surpassing her compatriot Perpetua Nkwocha, who has won the awards four times previously.

Club of the Year (Women): Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)

Club of the Year (Men): Wydad Athletic Club (Morocco)

National Team of the Year (Men): Senegal

Goal of the Year: Pape Ousmane Sakho (Senegal/ Simba FC)
