Davido pays tribute to late Sound Sultan in ‘10 Kilo’ music video

Afrobeats superstar Davido has honoured the memory of his late friend and colleague, Sound Sultan, in the music video for his hit single 10 Kilo.

The visual, directed by Director Pink, features scenes of plus-size models dancing in front of a banner bearing Sound Sultan’s image, a nod to the late singer’s 2011 hit Orobo, which also celebrated plus-size women.

Davido’s 10 Kilo carries similar lyrical themes, paying homage to body positivity while subtly weaving in Sultan’s influence.

Sound Sultan later remixed Orobo with Flavour in 2013, a version that enjoyed massive airplay across Nigeria and West Africa.

Sound Sultan passed from cancer in July 2021.
