The first Nigerian to contract the deadly Coronavirus has emerged after having contact with the first victim, an Italian on a working visit to Nigeria.

According to the Minister of Health, Osagie Enahire, a new case of coronavirus was confirmed in Nigeria almost three weeks after the first victim.

Enahire confirmed that Nigeria has recorded a second case of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

Dr Ehanire confirmed this on Monday at a press conference in Benin, Edo State capital.

The victim, he said, had contact with the Italian who was the first index case of coronavirus in Nigeria during his visit to Ogun State.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said in a tweet that the victim is one of those being isolated.
