Ghana’s beauty queen Abena joins Nollywood ‘On Different Grounds’

Renowned beauty queen and actress Abena Akuaba Appiah is set to make a significant mark in the Nigerian film industry with her starring role in the highly anticipated film ‘On Different Grounds’ directed by the acclaimed Mildred Okwo.

The film, scheduled for release early next quarter, is already generating considerable buzz.

Abena Akuaba Appiah, who won the prestigious Miss Grand International title in 2020, made history as the first Black woman and the first Miss Grand USA to ever win the pageant. Her journey from the pageant stage to the silver screen has been remarkable, and her entry to Nollywood marks an exciting new chapter in her career. Abena, who currently resides in Los Angeles, California, recently showcased her acting talents in Frank Rajah’s ‘A Taste of Sin’
which was released earlier this year.

‘On Different Grounds’ boasts an impressive cast, including Nollywood veterans Bob Manuel Udokwu, Jennifer Eliogu, and Nkem Owoh, as well as new stars Uche Montana, Maggie Osuome and Indian film star Vineet Raina.

The film’s production is helmed by the talented Nicole Ndigwe-Kalu, who has left no stone unturned in ensuring its success. With a combination of compelling storytelling, stellar performances, and top-notch production values, the film is poised to captivate audiences both in Nigeria and internationally.
