After remaining relevant on the entertainment scene for 10 years – 2010 to 2020 – Savage has not only made good decisions with her choice of a record label but also with her management.
Tiwa first gained the attention of Nigerian music lovers in 2010 after the release of her hit single, ‘Kele Kele Love’. She instantly became a top choice for several music labels under the management of her ex-husband, Tunji Balogun aka Tee Billz. And in 2012, she settled for Mavins records under the arms of Michael Collins Ajereh aka Don Jazzy.
The working relationship with Mavins and Tee Billz’ 323 management had Tiwa releasing several hit songs and massive collaborations with top music acts in Nigeria. Between 2012 and 2016, Tiwa had assumed the position of the biggest Nigerian female music star. A position she comfortable held unto until 2018 when Yemi Alade decided to ‘hunt’ for the throne.
In four years – between 2012 and 2016 – Tiwa Savage had amassed so much fame musically and wealth from the proceeds of her talent. Tiwa signed three of her biggest endorsements aside sold-out shows and multimillion Naira proceeds from record sales were recorded within these years. In 2012, Tiwa was announced an ambassador of Pepsi alongside Wizkid.
In 2013, she joined a long list of MTN ambassadors for a rumoured sum of N35million, and in 2016 after the birth of her son, Jamil, Tiwa was announced the first ambassador for Pampers at an undisclosed amount but running into several millions of Naira. The two endorsement deals skyrocketed the fortune and fame of the 39-year-old singer.
In 2016, the singer parted ways with her ex-husband and manager, Tee Billz and signed with Vanessa Amadi, an international artist manager.
Also in Tiwa’s kitty of mouth-watering endorsement deals include Maggi (Nestle), and Forte Oil, where she promoted the oil company’s products under the chairmanship of billionaire, Femi Otedola.
Tiwa also sealed a deal with Konga before the online platform merged with Yudala in 2019.
In 2019, Tiwa put pen to paper for a lucrative deal with Universal Music Record Label after her recording contract with Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records expired.
According to a report by alongtheboards.com, Tiwa’s net worth as of 2020 is estimated to be around $4.8 million, making her the richest artist from Nigeria.
