Hilda Baci receives second Guinness World Record plaque

Nigerian popular chef, Hilda Baci, has received her second Guinness World Record title plaque for her achievement of cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice, making her a two‑time Guinness World Record holder in Nigeria.

According to Guinness World Records, on September 12, 2025, Baci and partner Gino cooked 8,780kg (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a Lagos cookout, a feat that has now been confirmed as the largest ever.

After the 93‑hour, 11‑minute cooking marathon that made her a global figure in May 2023, the chef turned the spotlight back on Nigeria’s beloved jollof rice by cooking the largest post of jollof rice in the world and won the Guinness record for the second time.

The feat, verified by GWR, saw the entire portion which was enough to feed thousands, given to guests and charity groups, meeting all the strict food‑safety rules.

She also earned much support from influencers and celebrities during the cooking attempt.

According to reports, with this new plaque, Hilda Baci now the first Nigerian chef to hold multiple Guinness World Record titles.

In a recent trending post on Instagram, she shared her joyful moment after receiving the second Guinness World Record plaque.

Displaying the plaques, Hilda Baci described them as a story of “faith, fire and history” and dedicated it to Nigeria’s culinary excellence and creativity.

“Our plaques are finally here !!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria.

“And not just any records, two of the biggest culinary records ever set. Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves, a story that reached over five billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose.

“I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me,” she wrote.
