I don’t mind being a fifth wife — Toke Makinwa

Media personality, Toke Makinwa, has sparked reactions online after revealing she is open to the idea of becoming a second, third, fourth or even fifth wife, if given the opportunity to marry again.

Speaking on a recent episode of her podcast Toke Moments, which she shared via her Instagram page on Saturday, the popular host made the statement in a light-hearted tone.

“At this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to marry again, as a second, third, fourth, or even fifth wife, I’ll take it,” she said.

Her remarks follow reflections on her previous marriage to Maje Ayida, which ended in 2017 amid allegations of infidelity.

Toke has previously used her podcast to speak candidly about the emotional toll of that period in her life, admitting that recalling the experience often brought her to tears.

Now at 40, she appears determined to embrace her current stage of life while challenging societal expectations.

“I am 40, I am single, and I am childless. I said it, and I didn’t die,” she stated. “I used to feel ashamed… But honestly, if I had gotten married again, I would have been divorced again. The lessons don’t stop.”
