Kaduna announces full restoration of telecom services
The Kaduna State government has announced the restoration of full telecom services in areas where the services were earlier shut down to check insecurity.
The State Commissioner for Internal security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed the development at a news conference in Kaduna on Friday.
“Security agencies have notified the government that telecom services can be restored”, he said.
Telecom networks had been shut down in the state in a bid to control banditry and other insecurity issues in the state.
According to Aruwan, the shutdown of the telecommunication network recorded a lot of success.
He assured residents that restoration of full services would be felt over the next few days.
He added, “The Kaduna government regrets inconveniences that residents may have passed through.”
Aruwan explained that other measures such as ban on the use of motorcycles across the state, sales of petrol in gallons and Jerry cans, suspension of weekly cattle markets among others, are still in place.
