Kunle Afolayan builds multi-million Naira film village

Celebrated Nigerian filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan is currently erecting a multi-million Naira film village in Oyo state.

‘The Citation’ director revealed his current project weeks after launching an entertainment hub in Ikeja, Lagos.

Afolayan made the disclosure at the launch of Ibaka TV App by Blessed Idornigie and Kazeem Adeoti in Lagos.

“Currently, I am building a film village in Oyo state. It’s actually in Itesiwaju federal constituency, where Hon Shina Peller currently represents at the national assembly. I am not one who waits for the government, I do my thing and the government can come in and discuss after seeing what we have done. What we have done is very massive and we look at completing it before or by 2022,” Afolayan said.

The filmmaker also revealed that he’s currently working on another film project, which he plans to film in Oyo state using his film village. He said the shooting will begin in January 2022.

Afolayan’s last film, ‘The Citation,’ scooped nominations at the recently held Africa Movie Academy awards and won one.
