Kwara church attack: We want action, not press statement – Comedian Cute Abiola tells FG

Popular comedian Cute Abiola has called on both the Federal Government and the Kwara State Government to take proactive actions in tackling the insecurity in the state.

The skit maker, who was reacting to the attack on a Christ Apostolic Church by suspected bandits in Eruku on Tuesday, said Nigerians don’t want more press statements from the government, but actions.

He stated that the viral clip from the attack shows how unsafe Nigeria has become as a nation.

On his X handle on Wednesday, Cute Abiola wrote, “What happened in Kwara State is heartbreaking. Seeing that elderly woman running for her life inside a church. A place where she should feel safe, but instead she is struggling to escape death. That clip alone says everything about how unsafe we have become as a nation.

“To the Federal Government of Nigeria and Kwara State Government: Please, we don’t want another press statement. Don’t tell us you are ‘on top of the situation.’ Don’t release promises that die after one week. We need action. We need results. We need protection.”

Meanwhile, DJ Neptune has also reacted to the Kwara church attack, saying nowhere in Nigeria is safe.

He lamented that the current administration promised to end insecurity, but instead, it has worsened under their watch.

On X, DJ Neptune said, “Nowhere seem to be safe anymore, and this should never be the case!

“This government promised to end insurgency. To the right authorities, please fulfil your promises and wipe out these devilish creatures, causing our land so much pain.”
