Nigeria’s naira on Monday continued the week with significant appreciation against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira strengthened on Monday to N1,476.35 per dollar, up from N1,480.66 exchanged on Friday last week.
This means that the Naira gained N4.31 against the dollar when compared to N1,480.66 traded at the close of Friday.
Meanwhile at the black market, the Naira remained at N1,495 per dollar on Monday, the same rate exchanged at the close of work last week.
This shows that the naira had remained stable across foreign exchange markets.
The uptrend is not unconnected to the sustained rise in the country’s external reserves to $42.26 billion as of September 26, 2025.
