Nigerian Finance Minister, Wale Edun flown to UK for treatment

Nigerian Finance Minister Wale Edun has reportedly been flown to the United Kingdom for treatment. Sources familiar with the minister’s health confirmed this to the Western Post on Tuesday.

This comes days after presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga dismissed an earlier report that Edun was flown abroad for treatment.

The presidency, however, confirmed that Edun was sick and he is receiving treatment in Nigeria.

The presidential spokesperson, Onanuga, also revealed that Olayemi Cardoso, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria replaced Edun to lead the Nigerian delegation to the ongoing World Bank and International Monetary Fund meeting in Washington DC.
