No actress can buy G-Wagon from acting — Yemi Solade

Veteran Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade, has said that no actress in the industry can claim to have acquired a G-Wagon by just acting movies.

Solade said this while responding to questions during an episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, where he explained that money to acquire such a luxury car is not paid to anyone just in acting role but other means within the industry.

According to Yemi Solade, an actress can get such money from producing movies but not from acting.

“No actress will say the G-Wagon she has, she bought with the money from acting.

“It’s possible from producing but from acting, how much do the y want to pay you, 50M?”

The veteran actor added that actresses might have side hustles that can fetch them money for a G-wagon, stating that he was also not ruling out that such cars are also given out to actresses as gift.

“They may have side hustle, I don’t know those hustles.

“Then again, some are gifts, I want to believe so. Yes now, dem fit gift person G-wagon.”

Responding to question on why men in the same industry are not getting those kinds of gifts, the actor said seeing those gifters might require going on a voyage.

“Those gifters maybe we should go on a voyage to seek them out,” he added.

Solade was recently in the news after claiming to have started acting before another veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, explaining that the Yoruba people deserve credit not just for starting the Nollywood industry but for its evolution, citing how a Yoruba man produced the first home-made video by a Nigerian.
