The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannah Musa Musawa, has reiterated the call for strategic partnerships and collaboration with the private sector to transform Nigeria into a global destination for tourism and business.
She invited investors to engage in Nigeria’s cultural tourism and creative assets, emphasising that the country is rich in diverse resources and human capital that can compete on the global stage, saying that the government is committed to promoting sustainability in this endeavour.
Musawa made these remarks during the eighth edition of the Nigeria Tourism Investors Forum and Exhibition (NTIF) 2025, organised by the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN). The theme of the forum was ‘National Tourism Investment and Global Partnership’, with the sub-theme ‘Investing in Nigeria’s Tourism Future’.
In her speech at the one-day event held in Abuja, Musawa stated that NTIFE is more than just a platform to showcase Nigeria’s cultural wealth; it invites participants to help transform that wealth into lasting economic growth and global impact.
She highlighted the establishment of the Ministry as a sign of renewed commitment to positioning culture, tourism, and creative industries as central pillars of national development. Under this vision, the sector aims to contribute $100 billion by 2030 and generate over two million jobs for young people.
Musawa also addressed the deficits in infrastructure and policy frameworks that have hindered the sector’s growth. She outlined some of the measures and infrastructure initiatives her Ministry has introduced to tackle these issues.
To achieve these goals, she urged investors to consider Nigeria’s cultural tourism and creative assets, stressing the importance of strategic partnerships.
“Today, I extend an invitation to all investors, stakeholders, and partners: Invest in Nigeria’s heritage, creativity, and natural beauty. Partner with us to build world-class cultural hubs, heritage sites, resorts, creative cities, entertainment infrastructure, and more,” Musawa said.
“Collaborate with us to nurture talent, promote our heritage globally, and create opportunities for millions,” she added.
She also mentioned that her Ministry is eager to collaborate with organisations that can contribute value. The Ministry is currently signing Memoranda of Understanding with states and corporate bodies, in line with the Presidential directive on employing Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
Musawa concluded by encouraging operators to engage with her Ministry: “I urge you to connect with us to understand our initiatives and explore how you can contribute.
“Together, we can transform Nigeria into a global destination hub where culture meets commerce, tradition meets innovation, and our diversity becomes a source of pride, unity, and prosperity.”
