The ancient town of Ilesa, Osun State, is set to hold the coronation of the 41st Owa Obokun and paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, today.
Speaking on the readiness of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and sister security agencies to beef up security, spokesperson, Osun NSCDC, ASC Kehinde Adeleke, in a statement, said it has deployed a significant number of personnel to manage crowd, prevent disruptions, and ensure the safety of dignitaries and attendees.
The spokesperson quoted the NSCDC commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, as having stated that “NSCDC patrol teams are already on ground, maintaining a visible presence to deter potential security threats”.
Commandant Sotiyo, however, urged individuals with criminal intentions to steer clear of the event arena, pleading with all attendees to cooperate with security agencies to ensure a peaceful and successful celebration.
