A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has said the South-East will no longer witness widespread criminality following the cancellation of the Monday sit-at-home order by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Igbokwe made the statement in a Facebook post on Sunday, where he claimed the region was gradually being reclaimed from criminals and would now be guided by education and civic responsibility.
He wrote, “All things considered, we have gradually taken back South-East. Never again will Igboland suffer this level of criminalities in the 21st century. Our education is not for fancy. It is not for nothing. It is for the good of the commonwealth. Never again.”
The APC chieftain also criticised individuals he described as “foolish adults in Onitsha and IPOB fraudsters,” accusing them of mobilising youths to chant “Soludo show me the law.”
“The foolish adults in Onitsha and IPOB fraudsters who organized young people to be shouting “Soludo show me the law” have gone into oblivion and buried their faces in shame. We are our own enemies & will receive sense las las.”
IPOB recently announced that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, ordered the total cancellation of the Monday sit-at-home across the South-East, effective from February 9, 2026.
