Abia North Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on Tuesday confirmed that Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State will join the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Orji Kalu described Soludo as a progressive, like himself and President Bola Tinubu. Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly, the former governor said Soludo has no alternative.
He said, “I think after all the court cases, he is a progressive like myself, President Tinubu, and the Senate President.
“Soludo is a progressive. He will come to APC. In fact, it is confirmed that he will join APC. He has no other alternative.”
The lawmaker also emphasised that nobody is coerced into joining the APC, in response to reports that Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia and a member of the Labour Party, may also join the ruling party.
“Neither I nor other senators, the Senate President, or President Tinubu have ever forced anybody to join our party,” he said.
Over the weekend, Soludo was re-elected for a second term after defeating APC’s Nicholas Ukachukwu by over 300,000 votes.
