Taye Taiwo, brother absent as late dad is buried in Lagos

Nigerian-born international footballer, Taye Taiwo was absent as his late father, Alhaji Taiwo, was buried in Lagos, Nigeria.

ANN reliably gathered that Alhaji Taiwo’s remains were interred according to Islamic tenets on Wednesday, March 25.

Taiwo and his kid brother, Oyeinade Taiwo were both absent at the burial, which was held in a close-knit affair.

The development was said to have shattered the RoPS Rovaniemi defender, who is fond of his father.

According to sources in the Taiwo family, the late Alhaji Taiwo, who was survived by children, had his children in Nigeria gathering together for the interment.

It was also revealed that the family is looking at having a close-knit and low key celebration to mark the passing away of the religious and fun-loving octogenarian on Wednesday, April 1.

Family sources further disclosed that a burial ceremony is being planned to celebrate the life of Alhaji Taiwo after the lockdown in Lagos, Nigeria.

Meanwhile, a particular date is yet to be set for the burial but sources are speculating that it will be held in Igando or Egbeda area in Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos.

Taye Taiwo announced the death of his dad on Wednesday, March 25.

ANN exclusively gathered that the late Alhaji Taiwo had died before his 80th birthday.

It was reliably gathered that the aged Alhaji Taiwo died without previous ailment.
