Tems wins second Grammy in two years
Temilade Openiyi aka Tems has bagged her second Grammy award win in two years.
Tems’ remake of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 hit song, ‘love me jeje,’ earned her her second Grammy in just two years.
At the awards show, which was held at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, Tems shone like a bright star when she won the award for Best African Music Performance.
Earlier in 2023, Tems picked up her first Grammy for her collaboration with Future and Drake on the song, ‘wait for you.’
Tems, who was tipped to win three awards at the 67th edition of the Grammy, won in one of the three categories she was nominated for at the global music award show.
In her acceptance speech, the singer dedicated the award to her mother, whose birthday falls on Monday, February 3.
She went on to express gratitude to God almighty and her team as well as her friends.
The 29-year-old singer joins compatriots, Burna Boy and Wizkid as two time winners of the global music award.
Other winners at the global music awards ceremony include Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, Shakira, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.
