The Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry Of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab has visited a demolished shanty site in Ikoyi area of Lagos state.

On Sunday, November 26, Wahab, in company of the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Environment, Hon Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu and state officials visited the demolished Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi location of a large shanty settlement where alcoholism, drugs and prostitution thrived.

The raiding of the illegal settlement and subsequent arrest of some patrons was carried by men of the Lagos State Task Force on Special Offences early Sunday following petitions from residents.

Part of the complaints Centred around the influx of ladies of easy virtues who line many of the adjoining streets soliciting for patrons as well as many shadowy characters putting the security of the residents at risk.
