Top 10: Burna Boy sets spotify record with nearly two billion streams in 2025

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has recorded the biggest streaming year by an African artist on Spotify in 2025, pulling in nearly two billion streams on the platform.

According to Spotify data, the “Ye” crooner amassed 1.986 billion streams in 2025, placing him ahead of Wizkid, Tyla, Rema, and Davido as the most-streamed African artist during the year.

Burna Boy’s Spotify streams 2025 record highlights his continued global reach, as listeners across multiple regions contributed to the total throughout the year.

Wizkid ranked second on the list with 1.81 billion streams, based on 2025 Spotify streaming figures. South African singer Tyla followed in third place with 1.67 billion streams.

Rema finished fourth with 1.63 billion streams, while Davido placed fifth with 1.58 billion streams during the same period.

The rest of the top 10 most-streamed African artists on Spotify in 2025 include Asake with 1.52 billion streams, Ayra Starr with 1.47 billion streams, CKay with 1.38 billion streams, Seyi Vibez with 1.32 billion streams, and Mr Eazi with 1.26 billion streams.

The figures show how African artists continued to grow their presence on Spotify in 2025, with Burna Boy leading the year’s streaming totals.
