Grammy-winning Nigerian music sensation, Tems, has offered a rare and heartfelt insight into her relationship with fellow Afrobeats star and collaborator, Wizkid.

The revelation came during a recent question-and-answer session with her fans on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

A fan, using the handle @Gbolaha_n9, directly asked the celebrated songstress: “One thing you love about BigWiz?”

Tems’ response was immediate and focused on his character and commitment to his craft, stating:

“His Heart, his work ethic.”

This simple but profound answer highlights the qualities Tems admires most in the artist with whom she created one of Afrobeats’ most iconic global hits.

The two formed a definitive partnership when they collaborated on “Essence” in 2020, a track released on Wizkid’s Made in Lagos album.

“Essence” grew into a global sensation, earned multiple nominations, and led to Tems and Wizkid performing together on some of the world’s biggest stages.

This statement comes just days after Tems surprised fans with the release of her third EP, Love Is a Kingdom, further cementing her status as one of Africa’s leading musical exports.
