Wizkid gets double nominations at 2022 Grammy Awards

Grammy award-winning Nigerian music star, Wizkid has earned two nominations at the 64th Grammy Awards.

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, the Recording Academy announced the nominations for each of the 86 categories of the 2022 GRAMMYs scheduled for January 31, 2022, at the Microsoft Theater.

Nigeria’s Wizkid bagged two nominations in the Best Global Music Performance and Best Global Music Album categories. Wizkid’s hit collaboration with Tems, ‘Essence,’ got a nomination in the Best Global Music Performance while his fourth studio album, ‘Made in Lagos’ earned a nomination in the Best Global Music Album.

In 2021, Wizkid won his first Grammy award for his collaborative effort with Beyonce on the song, ‘Brown Skin Girl,’ off her 2019 album, The Lion King album. The jointly won award saw Wizkid joining Burna Boy as a recipient of the prestigious Grammy awards.

The 64th Grammy Awards will hold amidst pomp and glee on the CBS Television Network and streamed live and on-demand on Paramount+.
