Soyinka leads activists to Sowore’s trial

Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka has led activists to the trial of Omoyele Sowore in Abuja.

In a report by QEDng, Soyinka and Senator Shehu Sani were two of the activists that attended the trial of Sowore, who is the convener of #RevolutionNow Movement, Omoyele Sowore, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The Professor reportedly arrived at the court premises on Wednesday, February 12 around 8:50 am just before Sowore’s arrival.

Sowore and his co-accused, Olawale Bakare, were arrested on August 5, 2019, by the Department of State Services (DSS) and charged with treasonable felony, fraud among others.

He was released after being detained for 124 days but rearrested at a Federal High Court in Abuja in less than 24 hours. On December 24, 2019, the Federal Government finally obeyed court orders for his release.
