Highlife legend, Victor Olaiya, has passed away after 33 months that Moji Olaiya died of cardiac arrest.

According to the Managing Director of Evergreen Music Company Ltd, Bimbo Esho, Olaiya passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

Olaiya died at the old age of 89 after a brief illness.

It was further said that Olaiya was pronounced dead at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

The highlife legend’s death is coming exactly 2 years and 9 months after the death of his niece and popular Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya.

Moji Olaiya died on Wednesday, May 17, from cardiac arrest, two months after giving birth to a baby girl.

The late Victor Olaiya is Moji’s uncle. His younger brother, Joshua Bodunde Olaiya, who died a long time ago, was Moji’s biological father. Victor Olaiya was responsible for her upbringing which made many believe she was indeed his daughter.

Details of burial is yet to be announced as family members are yet to speak about the death of the Nigerian music icon.
