ADC is Nigeria’s only escape from economic, security woes — Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) remains the only political party capable of rescuing Nigeria from its economic hardship and insecurity.

Atiku asserted on Saturday while inaugurating the Taraba State office of the ADC in Jalingo, shortly after his official defection to the party earlier in the week barely 17 months to the 2027 general elections.

Addressing party supporters, Atiku said he and other politicians had experienced the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and several other platforms, but none had demonstrated the capacity to lift Nigeria out of its current crisis.

“We have tasted other political parties and they brought nothing but insecurity, hunger, poverty and unemployment,” he said. “I want you to hold this party with integrity. Do not allow anybody to deceive you with any other party.”

Atiku, who resigned from the PDP on July 16 citing irreconcilable internal differences, urged Taraba residents to register in the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise, saying their participation is crucial to changing the country’s fortunes.

Expressing confidence in the party’s chances in the next election cycle, Atiku said the ADC was poised to win Taraba and ultimately take control of Nigeria as “the only reliable political party” offering real solutions to the nation’s challenges.

” The youths and women should know that we are doing this for them to have a better future, and I am holding on to their promise.”

“ADC will win Taraba state, win Nigeria as the only reliable political party,” he added.
