Another content creator, Chime Chinedu Abumchukwu, has called out movie producer, Omoni Oboli, for alleged copyright infringement shortly after the movie, ‘Love in Every Word’, was restored to YouTube.
Before Chinedu’s accusations, the movie, starring Uzor Arukwe and Bamike Olawunmi, “Bambam,” had earlier been taken down on YouTube following a similar accusation by Chinonso Obiora, “Skyberry.
However, Omoni Oboli cleared the claims made by Skyberry, and the movie which earlier gathered over seven million views, was reuploaded, even though people are unaware of the exact details of the issue.
She wrote on her instagram page, “Hey besties, thank you for the love and concern. We deeply appreciate you all for your calls, messages, posts, tweets, comments, everything! There was a little misunderstanding with our movie Love in Every Word. It’s been sorted out now, and we are back stronger than ever!”
Just after this post from Oboli, another person, Chinedu took to X to call out the movie producer for copyright infringement.
He wrote, “Dear @Omonioboli, Huge congratulations on getting your movie back online! I’m beyond thrilled for you. My name is Chime Chinedu Abumchukwu, and I’m the founder of Ou Travel and Tour. Yesterday, I received several messages mistakenly referring to me as Obiora due to a copyright claim on YouTube.
“After clarifying the mix-up, I realized that my video clips from Awka, Amawbia, and Osumenyi were featured in your movie. While I’m honored that my work was considered worthy of inclusion, I was surprised to find no credits given at the end. As a content creator who showcases Nigeria’s beauty with little to no support, I believe it’s essential to acknowledge and respect the intellectual property of others.
“I’d like to request that you consider giving me proper credit for my work in your movie. This would not only be a kind gesture but also a great opportunity to promote the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria. Once again, congratulations on your movie’s success! I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing my credits included.
