Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta contracts coronavirus

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal head coach, has contracted coronavirus. Arteta reportedly tested positive for the virus on Thursday, March 12, 2019.

Arteta’s health condition was revealed as the football club prepares for their Premier League match away to Brighton on Saturday, March 14.

According to reports, Arsenal’s match against Brighton has been postponed.

It was gathered that Arteta did not attend training on Thursday and has now gone self-isolate in line with government health guidelines.

The ex-player and Arsenal’s current head coach is expected to be joined in self-isolation by the first-team squad – along with coaching staff.

Speaking on his condition, Arteta said, “This is really disappointing but I took the test after feeling poorly. I will be at work as soon as I’m allowed.”

Wednesday was a day off for the team so with the players last having contact with Arteta on Tuesday, it means they are now effectively three days into their self-isolation.
