BBNaija S10: Kola distances self from Dede, says he won’t be another Ozo

Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Kola, has decided to take a step back from his romantic pursuit of fellow housemate, Dede, after weeks of expressing interest despite her insistence on maintaining a platonic relationship.

Dede had earlier told Kola that she is committed to a romantic relationship outside the house, a reason she has repeatedly given for not reciprocating his feelings. However, Kola continued to push for a deeper connection, even questioning her closeness with other male housemates, Jason Jae and Koyin.

On Tuesday, following his diary session with Biggie and a therapy session with Ibifubara, Kola opened up to a few housemates, expressing frustration that Dede might be toying with his emotions.

In a heartfelt conversation with fellow housemate Sabrina, Kola said he was beginning to see similarities between his situation with Dede and that of Ozo and Nengi during the 2020 ‘Lockdown’ season, and he was determined not to go down the same path.

“You’re the only one dedicated to her,” Sabrina noted.

“She is giving mixed signals,” Kola replied.

Sabrina added, “Only God knows the conversations she has with Koyin and Jason Jae.”

Kola then said, “I hope my team changes the narrative of this Ozo and Nengi thing. I will do the same when I come out.”

It will be recalled that in the BBNaija Lockdown edition, Ozo repeatedly expressed romantic interest in Nengi, who maintained that they were just friends due to her situation outside the house. Despite this, Nengi’s actions at times sparked speculation and gave mixed signals, leading some viewers to label Ozo as being too emotionally invested.

Kola’s decision to withdraw from Dede may be his attempt to protect his image and avoid a similar backlash from viewers.
