Burna Boy sends couple out for sleeping at concert

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, stirred controversy on Wednesday night after asking a couple to leave his concert in Denver, United States, for allegedly sleeping during his performance.

The incident unfolded when Burna Boy paused his set and called out a man whose partner appeared to have dozed off.

“When I stand up here and see you over there with your girl sleeping in the front of me, it pisses me the f**k up. So, please, take her the f**k home. Walahi I’m not performing another song till you go home,” Burna Boy said.

Though the couple initially hesitated, they eventually left after the crowd joined in urging them to go, after which the singer resumed his performance.

This has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans criticising Burna Boy for sending paying concertgoers away.

However, this is not the first time the singer’s onstage behavior has raised eyebrows. In a previous show, he kicked a fan who ran on stage to hug him and once asked another concertgoer to leave for not dancing during his set.
