Former Attorney General, Adoke gets N50m bail

Former Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke has been granted bail to the tune of N50 million over his alleged involvement in the Malabu oil deal.

A Federal High Court in Gwagwalada granted Adoke bail in the sum of N50 million with one surety on Thursday, January 30.

Adoke is standing trial on 42 counts of fraud and money laundering in connection with the controversial $1.09 billion settlement agreement on Malabu Oil Bloc.

Justice Abubakar Idris also granted bail to two of Adoke’s co-defendants.

The judge had on Monday heard the separate bail applications filed by the three of the seven defendants named as defendants in the charges.
