Lagos to provide free internet facilities to schools and hospitals, Wahab

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education, Tokunbo Wahab, has assured Lagosians that Governor Babajide Sanwoolu will commission over 3000 fiber cables by second quarter of this year for schools and hospitals across the state.

He said this in London while addressing the delegates of Lagos State tertiary institutions and officials of the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education during a 5-days Higher Education-Business-Government-Collaboration training at the University of London, United Kingdom.

The conference is sponsored by Lagos State Government through Office Of The Special Adviser On Education and is expected to make the delegates understand the context of global innovation and national development and be exposed to diverse opportunities, case examples, challenges, gaps, and opportunities to exchange and share good practices through interactive discussions.

Wahab said this is the Governor’s initiative to drive the economy differently through IT technology, and by the middle of this year.

“Mr. Governor will commission 3000 to 10000 fiber cables across the state which will enable us to do plug and play fiber cable to schools; both primary, secondary, tertiaries and hospitals for free internet use across the state,” Wahab said.
