Lassa fever resurfaces in Ondo, Edo, Bauchi

 The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) yesterday reported 10 cases of Lassa fever infections in three states.

According to the agency, three states: Ondo (30 per cent), Edo (26 per cent) and Bauchi (14 per cent) recorded the cases between July 25 to July 31, 2022.

They account for 70 per cent of the burden of the disease in the country.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases this year to 867, with 164 deaths.

The report which was obtained by allnewsng.com further showed in 2022, exactly 24 states have recorded at least one confirmed case of the disease across 99 local government areas.
