MTN group rebrands, adopts new logo, slogan

Africa’s largest telecommunications company, MTN Group, said it will officially rebrand itself into a technology company, while also adopting a new logo and slogan on February 27.

The new look, which is already visibly on display outside its Johannesburg headquarters, will take effect group-wide.

It opted for a much more simplistic look as they did away with the white, yellow text alongside a red accent on a blue oval and white border.

In its place now is the ‘MTN’ written in simple blue block letters bordered by a blue oval on an all-yellow background.

The former slogan “Everywhere you go” has been replaced with “Y’ello.”

In an official statement, MTN’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, Nompilo Morafo said the new look aligns with their evolution from a telecommunications company to a technology company.

“Our commitment and focus to accelerate Africa’s progress sees MTN revealing a refreshed brand identity and campaign from 27 February.

“MTN Group’s Ambition 2025, aimed at “Leading digital platforms for Africa’s progress” has ushered in a new look that is aligned to our evolution from a telecommunications company to a technology company underpinned by one simple, consistent, yet striking brand”, said Morafo.
