Music is deeper than what people know, Teeboz

Music producer and record label executive, Olatunbosun Akande aka Teeboz has opined that music is deeper than what people know.

Teeboz made this known while speaking on his efforts in the Nigerian music industry since 2007 under Social & Domestic Records (S&D Records).

After forming the S&D Records in 2006 in Sydenham, South London, Teeboz was determined to make a mark on the music scene after being inspired by music stars like Daddy Showkey, Alariwo and Baba Fryo.

He said, “The inspiration came from listening to Nigerian musicians of that time like Baba Fryo, Daddy Showkey, Marvellous Benji, Daddy Fresh, Alariwo etc. We realised that we have lots of special talents in music in Nigeria that are in the grassroots trying to make it to the mainstream and we decided to invest in them because we believe in them.

“Music is deeper than what people think of but we have been doing music business in Nigeria since 2007. We started with a music group, Jblack (Ayobami Akande aka AYOBAMII and Jibola Laoke aka Skippur). We released their first album entitled ‘Small Beginning’ in 2008. We are into music production and promotion, artists management and events. Since 2007, our record label has done lots of events in Nigeria, United Kingdom, Ghana and (Dubai) United Arab Emirates.”

On his experiences, Teeboz revealed that as a producer and record label executive, he has worked with artists like Ruggedman, Mr Real, Oritse Femi, Lord of Ajasa, Daddy Fresh, Marvelous Benji, Intruda. He also revealed that he produced Daddy Fresh’s Eleru remix featuring Jblack.

For his S&D Records, Teeboz said, “We have AYOBAMII, Junzy and Dabuilda currently signed on our label. We are working with Deoba Authentic ,Trizzi and AK Dbliss in London. We also worked with the late Ahmed Kuteyi (King Jhaffi), who was one of Davido’s friends. Our artists like AYOBAMII and Junzy have new songs coming out soon and they include ‘Complete’ remix featuring Ivory Coast finest ‘Kouekadoh’ and ‘Mami’.
