Rainstorm wreaks havoc in Ogun communities

Communities in Ota, Iju and Owode Yewa axis of Ogun State have been thrown into darkness following a heavy rainstorm that wreaked havoc in Ado-Odo/Ota and Yewa South Local Government Areas of the State.

The affected communities, over the weekend, were greeted with heavy rainstorm, which pulled down many electricity poles.

Apart from collapsed structures, some houses had their roofs ‘blown away’ by the storm, even as roads were flooded.

Since Saturday, residents of the affected areas have been battling with power outage, which they fear may not end anytime soon.

Recounting their ordeal, a resident of Iyesi, who simply identified herself as Abefe, told news correspondents that the power outage was making life more difficult for them, appealing to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to act fast.
