Seun Anikulapo Kuti has made his debut in the film industry.

The Afrobeat singer made his debut appearance in a film on Monday, January 27, 2020, in Ile Ife, Osun State.

The son of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, joined the set of Kunle Afolayan’s upcoming film, ‘Citation,’ where he performed to a very large audience.

Seun Kuti made the announcement in an Instagram post saying, “Today I make my big screen debut in my Egbon @kunleafo new movie #citation and to top it off it’s at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University and it will be a free concert from 6 pm. Let’s all be in the movie Biko everyone come thru!!”

Filmed for a scene in the upcoming movie, Kuti joins Ini Edo, Gabriel Afolayan, and Femi Otedola’s third daughter, Temi, who plays the lead character of ‘Moremi’ on the movie set.

Kuti performed at the Amphitheatre of the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife where the shooting is currently taking place.

The movie shoot is currently on Day 17 as of Monday, January 22, 2020.
