Tiwa Savage: I might flee Nigeria if COVID-19 gets really bad

Tiwa Savage has revealed that she might flee Nigeria if the spread of coronavirus gets really bad and worse in the country.

Savage made this known during her brief chat with Tamar Braxton and beautician co-host, Johnny Wright for Tamar Talking Taco Tuesday on YouTube Live.

The show which began at 3 AM (8 PM US time) on Wednesday, May 5, had Savage discussing her upcoming album while judging some upcoming acts that were featured on the show.

She said, “The numbers are rising and it’s sad because people had to go out to feed their family but this also has an effect on the numbers.

“I’m a Nigerian and I love my country and as a creative, I don’t want to run away but if it gets really bad, I know a friend, who has a friend that has a PJ (private jet).”

Tiwa reiterated that she hopes the pandemic doesn’t get so bad in Nigeria.

 

The singer also noted that the pandemic left a sore in her mouth as it disrupted her plans for the years.

The singer said that she has finished her album and it was supposed to be launched in the first week of the second quarter of the year.

I already finished my album and it was supposed to be released in the first week of the second quarter but the coronavirus pandemic has stalled it. I will be putting out a single in the next two or three weeks. The album will still be released but I will share the dates later,” she said.

Tiwa also said she had a tour of 45 different venues and dates lined up for the year but had to be canceled as a result of the pandemic.

She said, “I had 45 dates and festivals lined up but all these are canceled as a result of the COVID-19 and it has affected my pocket.”
