Julius Agwu and wife Ibiere split after 14years

The 14 year old marriage of comedy merchant, Julius Agwu and his wife, Ibiere, has crashed.

Ibiere has reportedly moved out of their matrimonial home.

The couple is said to be going through trying times because of Agwu’s ill health.

Recall that in 2015, the comedian was diagnosed with brain tumor, after three tumours were found in his brain.

According to some unsubstantiated report, Ibiere has reverted to her maiden name, Maclayton and travelled abroad with her children.

It is not clear what led to the breakdown of their marriage, there has been several speculations about the real reason with some saying the couple were going through financial crisis occasioned by Agwu’s ill health.

Meanwhile, many have applauded Ibiere in the past for standing by her husband during his trials and caring for him.

In an interview granted to Punch newspaper two years ago, the comedian noted that his sickness has taught him a lot of lessons.

He said “I have learnt a lot about life. I don’t want to say somethings, but the fact is that I have grown. Life has taught me that it is important to strategise. One cannot win all the time and at some points, one has to settle down and and watch certain things unfold.

“However, one unforgettable lesson is that one needs to hold on tightly to God and not despise him. I also learnt the value of friendship, but I don’t want to say more than that.”
