A political pressure group, South-South for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (SOSOBAT) ’23, has lauded the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 general elections, describing it as a “sweet and strategic victory for the APC and a good omen for Nigerians.”

This was made known in a press statement issued in Warri by SOSOBAT and signed by Comrade Alex Eyengho, interim Director of Media and Communication, even as it stressed that at this point for Nigeria as a nation, Senator Tinubu is the best person to take over from His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We commend all the aspirants for putting up a good fight. We particularly commend the aspirants who courageously stepped down for Asiwaju Tinubu and sincerely worked for his success. We most graciously commend the Progressives Northern Governors for rising above ethnic cleavage and against all odds standing up for power shift to the South in the interest of equity, justice fair play and the common good of Nigeria and Nigerians. Above all, we thank President Buhari for manifestly ensuring a level playing field for all aspirants who participated in the Presidential primaries,” the statement.

According to SOSOBAT, as sweet as the victory of Asiwaju Tinubu is at the APC Presidential primary election is, it is not time to be carried away with endless celebrations but indeed time to roll up the sleeves and get to real work to mobilize the electorate to vote massively for the APC ticket during the Presidential election in February 2023, adding that of all the Presidential candidates of political parties, Asiwaju Tinubu of the APC was the best, strategic, visionary, courageous and focused leader that can take Nigeria and Nigerians to the most desired destination.

“Lagos is a mini Nigeria; a microcosm of the macrocosm. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu did it in Lagos before. He shall do it again in and for Nigeria with his visionary magic wand. SOSOBAT shall work vigorously with critical leaders and stakeholders of all the South-South states of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivers to deliver maximum victory to the Asiwaju Tinubu-led APC ticket at the 2023 Presidential polls to the glory of God and the common good of Nigerians,” the statement added.
