Lagos physician and entrepreneur, Dr. Ahmed Omilana lit the social milieu last weekend when his son, Nurudeen married his longtime heartthrob, Adebimpe Adeniyi in an elaborate ceremony across three days in Lagos.
The London-based chartered accountant Nurudeen and Adebimpe said their vows in front of hundreds of friends and family at the Marcellina’s Event Centre in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday January 31.
The couple had earlier on Thursday January 29 been joined together at a special Arabian-styled Nikkai at the same venue but splashed out on a second, more extravagant traditional engagement ceremony.
After over a decade long relationship both as students of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, the couple later metamorphosed into two lovers and consummated their love affairs in the United Kingdom.
Basking in the euphoria of their accomplishments, Dr. Omilana believes that their wedding must be accorded prime attention and make it unforgettable.
And indeed, the lavish celebrations spotlighted the immense clout of the groom’s dad and mom, Funmi, who both left no stone unturned to make their son and his sweetheart’s nuptials memorable.
The Oke-Ogun, Oyo State-born Executive Vice Chairman of FitPlus Health Care Limited led the Strategic Plan of Action Committee (SPAC) in view of his calm precision and gladiatorial style while also ensuring that the traditional part of the nuptials truly captured his Ibarapa grassroots background in Oyo State.
The multi-disciplinary specialist doctor showed what hospitality and African cultural heritage was all about with the special performance by the Ibarapa-Tapa ensemble.
The classy wedding, which witnessed the influx of top socialites, had both the old and new friends of the Oyo State-born health tycoon and serial entrepreneur in attendance.
The atmosphere became exhilarated as the vibes from Fuji music legend, Dr. Adewale Ayuba charged the venue and enthralled the crowd drawn from various sectors of the economy.
There was much to eat and to drink with guests savored vintage beverages, choice cognac, wines and aperitif in an atmosphere of camaraderie and conviviality.
The guest list includes HRM Oba Sunday Oyekanmi Titiloye, the Elempe of Tapaland; AVM Abubakar Suleh; Hon. Seyi Jakande, Chairman, Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA; Hon.
