Davido’s dad, Dr. Deji Adeleke has joined Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote and other billionaires in Nigeria to donateto the CaCOVID relief fund.

With a donation of the sum of N500 million, Adeleke occupies the 10th position on the list, which has a total of Nigerian corporate giants on it.

Ahead of Adeleke on the list of donations are Central Bank of Nigeria, Aliko Dangote, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Segun Agbaje, Tony Elumelu, Oba Otudeko, Jim Ovia, Herbert Wigwe and Femi Otedola.

The billionaires all donated sums of N1 billion each except Aliko Dangote and CBN that donated N2 billion each.

Meanwhile Dr. Adeleke has also commenced the distribution of 6,640 bags of rice valued at N250million across the 332 wards in Osun State. Each ward is expected to receive 20 bags of 50KG rice and three bags of beans from the billionaire’s largesse. Osun State has recorded a total of nine cases of coronavirus as at Sunday, April 5, 2020.

Aliko Dangote, through the Aliko Dangote Foundation, led the coalition of private-sector organisations to support the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to tackle the coronavirus (COVID-19) menace sweeping across the country.

The Coalition Against Coronavirus (CACOVID) was an initiation muted by Dangote to help fight and curb the spread of coronavirus.

Speaking on the creation of the relief fund, Dangote said, “We are pulling resources across industries to provide technical and operational support while providing funding and building advocacy through aggressive awareness drives.

“The coalition is working with the Lagos State Government to erect fully-equipped medical tents that will serve as training, testing, isolation and treatment centers. We are also providing an additional facility in Victoria Island, Lagos.”

The richest billionaire in Africa also assured that the centers will be fully equipped with medical supplies and trained personnel to cater to patients who may become affected. “Also, we will be bringing in experts from around the world to provide technical and training support”, he said.
